Public Representatives Should Pay Special Attention to Green Area Expansion in Urban Bodies

Commissioner of Urban Administration and Development, Mr. Sanket Bhondve, held a meeting with the chairpersons of various urban bodies of the state on Tuesday at the Palika Bhawan in Bhopal. He discussed various issues related to urban development with the public representatives. Chairman of the Safai Karmachari Commission, Mr. Pratap Karosia, was also present at the meeting.

The Commissioner of Urban Administration said that there is a need to expand green areas in urban regions for maintaining environmental balance. Along with this, regular maintenance of parks in urban areas is also necessary. He said that under the AMRUT scheme in the state, development works worth Rs 12,000 crore are underway. The Commissioner said that urban bodies should pay attention to regular tax collection and make maximum use of information technology in tax collection.

Use of technology to monitor attendance in offices

Commissioner Mr. Bhondve said that to ensure proper management in urban bodies, the Face Recognition Attendance System (FRAS) should be implemented to ensure the attendance of officers and employees, and complete transparency should be maintained in this. He also shared information about the recent promotion-related order of the state government. The Commissioner said that with this order, promotions and new appointments can be made in necessary posts such as Safai Mitra (sanitation workers), gardeners, etc., in the bodies. He told public representatives of the urban bodies to encourage the use of e-vehicles in their areas.

Urban bodies with excellent performance will be rewarded

Commissioner Mr. Bhondve shared information with the public representatives about the department’s tax collection incentive award scheme. He informed that an incentive amount of ₹100 crore will be distributed to bodies that perform excellently in the field of tax collection. The public representatives present at the meeting suggested that the urban residents who have been living for years on urban land should be provided benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
