Small Enterprises Crucial for Strengthening Economy, Creating Jobs, and Reducing Inequality — Naveen Nambiar
Jaipur : To raise awareness about the contribution of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and to inspire trained youth to become entrepreneurs, the United Nations General Assembly observes MSME Day on June 27 every year. Marking this occasion, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organized a special Town Hall Meeting for MSMEs in Jaipur on Wednesday.
The event was inaugurated by Naveen Nambiar, Regional Director of RBI Jaipur, who emphasized the pivotal role of the MSME sector in strengthening the Indian economy, generating employment, and reducing inequality. He highlighted the importance of adopting modern technological innovations to ensure digital and cost-effective lending for the MSME sector. He also urged entrepreneurs to expand their digital footprint by conducting business transactions through formal banking channels.
During the meeting, Vikas Agrawal (Deputy General Manager, RBI Jaipur), Ritu Gaur (General Manager, SBI), M. Anil Anchal (Head, Bank of Baroda), and Deepak Gandhi (Zonal Manager) shared their insights.
Other key participants included Gaurav Joshi, Director, MSME Development Office Rajasthan; Shilpi R. Purohit, District Industries Centre, Jaipur; Dr. K.L. Jain, President, Federation of Associations of Small Industries, Rajasthan; women entrepreneurs’ associations; bank representatives; MSME unit owners; aspiring entrepreneurs; and officials from leading banks serving the MSME sector.
