Expresses Satisfaction Over Ongoing Works; Directs Officials to Pursue Pending Projects
Beed : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Beed district, Ajit Pawar, reviewed several major development projects in the district through video conferencing on June 25. These included the proposed airport land acquisition and survey, establishment of a veterinary college at Parli, the Parli–Ahilyanagar railway line, and other district-level initiatives. Expressing satisfaction with the progress of ongoing projects, Pawar instructed the administration to actively follow up on the pending ones.
The review meeting was attended by O.P. Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance Department; Rajesh Deshmukh, Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister; Beed District Collector Vivek Johnson; and other senior officials. During the meeting, Collector Johnson outlined the current status of major ongoing projects.
For the proposed airport at Beed, a total of 308.32 hectares of land—117.04 hectares of government land in villages Kamkheda, Dagdishahajanpur, and Aher Chincholi, and 191.28 hectares of private land—has been earmarked. As per instructions from Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, the Divisional Commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and the District Collector of Beed have already inspected the proposed site.
Mrs. Swati Pandey, Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), has initiated a Pre-Feasibility Study to assess the land’s suitability for an airport. Accordingly, the district administration was asked to submit information in Form-1, and ₹40.32 lakh has been received for conducting this assessment.
In addition, a Veterinary College under the Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur, is planned in Parli (Vaijnath). The District Collector’s Office has proposed allocation of 28.80 hectares of land—8.80 hectares in Loni (Parli Taluka) and 20 hectares in Parli town—to the state government. Senior officials from the Animal and Fishery Sciences University have already inspected the land. The required No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the concerned gram panchayats and the Chief Executive Officer’s opinion have been submitted to the government. Once the land is officially transferred to the university, construction of the veterinary college will begin.
