11.74 lakh farmers of the state got short term agricultural loan of Rs 5250 crore

Under the direction of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and guidance of Cooperative Minister Kedar Kashyap, short term agricultural loans are being distributed to maximum number of farmers of the state. So far, 11.74 lakh farmers in the state have been provided short term agricultural loans of Rs 5250 crore through 2058 cooperative societies by the State Cooperative Banks. This year, the state government has set a target of loan distribution of Rs 7300 crore to the farmers. The total amount distributed so far is about 72 percent of the target. Short term agricultural loans are being provided to the farmers as per their demand and area. Whereas last year, short term agricultural loans of Rs 5 thousand crore were distributed as of today.

It is worth noting that the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme was started by the state government with the objective of meeting the basic needs of farming and providing convenience in farming to the farmers. Apart from this, its main objective was to save the farmers from the clutches of moneylenders. At present, lakhs of farmers of the state are benefiting from this scheme. This has not only provided relief to the farmers for their basic needs, but the production of crops is also increasing continuously
