High level bridge constructed on Chhindai river, road for movement of villagers opened.

Only the villagers know how risky it was for the nearby villagers to cross this Chhindai river of Madwani which swells with the rains. Whether they had to go from one village to another or to the house of any of their acquaintances, they had to suffer the consequences of not having a bridge for a long time. As soon as the rains came, many people either stopped meeting each other for months or had to travel long distances to go from one village to another. To cover this long distance, they not only had to spend extra money, but also had to spend a lot of time. Now that a bridge has been built on this Chhindai river, the movement of the villagers has become easy. They easily reach the place by covering a distance of hours in minutes.

Recently, the Deputy Chief Minister of the state and the Minister in charge of the district, Shri Arun Sao, inaugurated the high level bridge constructed at a cost of about 17 crore 17 lakhs on the Chhindai river in Madwani-Kachar-Taraimaar-Kudmura road of Kartala development block. This bridge is proving to be very helpful for the villagers in connecting Rampur, Madwani and many other nearby villages to the main roads including Kudmura, Hati. With the construction of this bridge, new doors of development have opened. For years, there was a demand for a bridge on this river which has now been fulfilled. Many nearby villages have been connected by this. Contact with each other has also increased. This bridge has become a bridge of transport as well as a bridge of development.

While crossing this bridge, villager Kamal Singh Chauhan said that earlier they had to travel a long distance to go from one village to another. They had to travel an extra 5 to 10 kms by bike. This resulted in loss of extra money and time. He said that during summers, when the water level in the river was low, many villagers used to cross the river by taking risks. When the level of the river increased during rains, crossing the bridge became dangerous. Now that the bridge has been built, the villagers have started getting a lot of convenience with ease in transportation. Mr. Bhuneshwar Rathia, a farmer of village Madwani, says that people living in the village keep visiting other villages to visit their relatives in times of happiness and sorrow. Due to the absence of a bridge, some people used to try to cross the bridge by taking risks, while some people used to waste a lot of time and travel through other routes.

This bridge has benefited the villagers of Madwani, Kachhar, Maharajganj, Charmar, Rampur, Kudmura, Kartala, Champa and other villages. He said that marriages of boys and girls are fixed and relationships are formed in the nearby villages. The bridge on Chhindai river on Madwani-Kachhar-Taraimaar-Kudmura road is not just a bridge for transportation. This bridge is also a bridge that strengthens our relationships and brings happiness by reducing our expenses and removing our problems.

It is noteworthy that under the guidance of the Chief Minister, action is being taken to construct bridges for transportation in remote and inaccessible areas in Korba district and across rivers and streams as per the need. Collector Shri Ajit Vasant has also given instructions to identify such places for transportation and submit proposals, where bridge construction is required.
