Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Assures Full Funding Support to SARTHI Institute
Honours UPSC & MPSC Success Stories, Urges Youth to Guide Future Aspirants
Pune : The government will ensure that lack of funds does not hinder the functioning of the SARTHI institute, said Deputy Chief Minister and Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar. He added that SARTHI’s initiatives should benefit as many students as possible and urged successful candidates to guide aspiring students as a form of social responsibility.
Pawar was speaking at a felicitation ceremony organised by the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI) to honour students who passed the UPSC and MPSC examinations.
Also present at the event were SARTHI directors Umakant Dangat, Madhukar Kokate, Dr. Navnath Palkar, Kishorraje Nimbalkar, CEO of Zilla Parishad Gajanan Patil, and SARTHI Managing Director Dr. Shivaji Patil, among others.
Deputy CM Pawar encouraged the newly inducted officers to remain people-centric in their administrative roles and support marginalised sections of society. He emphasised that since SARTHI operates in the name of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, the work of its beneficiaries should reflect his values of social reform and justice.
He appealed to the students to share their experiences and success stories with others and to assist future aspirants through SARTHI as a means of giving back. He further urged successful candidates to support SARTHI’s efforts in resolving pending institutional issues.
Highlighting the importance of Shahu Maharaj’s revolutionary legacy, Pawar remarked that almost every social organisation in the country works with his ideology at its core. He stated that government, semi-government, and private institutions should consider Shahu Maharaj’s principles as guiding ideals.
SARTHI President Ajit Nimbalkar, in his remarks, noted that the number of students from Maharashtra qualifying for UPSC and MPSC was minimal in the 1980s, but has seen a marked increase over the past 4–5 years. He expressed confidence that SARTHI would continue producing top-tier administrative officers who will contribute significantly to the state’s development.
The event began with introductory remarks from Managing Director Dr. Shivaji Patil. Various SARTHI initiatives, training programmes, and scholarship schemes were also presented. Two publications—“Vijayibhav” (Success Stories) and “SARTHI Initiative Handbook”—were released on the occasion.
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar honoured 9 UPSC and 91 MPSC qualifiers with mementos and certificates. The successful candidates credited SARTHI for its invaluable support in their journey.
The event was attended by SARTHI officials, representatives from various social organisations, and parents of the students. The ceremony was compered by Swati Patankar, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Managing Director Anil Pawar.
