Free Meals for All ST Employees Serving Pilgrims on Ashadhi Ekadashi – Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik
Mumbai : In view of Ashadhi Ekadashi and the anticipated arrival of millions of devotees at Pandharpur for Lord Vitthal’s darshan, the State Transport (ST) undertaking has deployed 5,200 buses. Transport Minister and ST Board Chairman Pratap Sarnaik announced that all drivers, conductors, mechanics, supervisors, and officers involved in this service will be provided free tea, snacks, and meals.
Minister Sarnaik said, “For many years, ST and its employees have faithfully served Vitthal’s pilgrims, undeterred by sun, wind, or rain. This year, during the Ashadhi pilgrimage, we are arranging tea, snacks, and full meals at our own expense for three consecutive days (with fasting food on Ekadashi). It’s our way of serving Lord Vitthal through service to His devotees. We plan to continue this initiative every year.”
Between July 5 and 7, approximately 13,000 ST employees will avail themselves of the free meal facilities at the Chandrabhaga, Bhima, Vitthal, and Pandurang bus stations.
