Jaipur, May 2026 : Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Thursday visited the Police Headquarters in Jaipur and held a high-level review meeting on cyber crime control mechanisms and the functioning of Cyber Crime Helpline 1930.
Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma welcomed Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar A. Sawant during the visit.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary conducted a detailed review of the state’s cyber crime monitoring system, the operational framework of the cyber crime cell and the implementation of Helpline 1930. Despite it being a government holiday, Srinivas spent over two-and-a-half hours assessing the arrangements and offered several important suggestions to strengthen the system further. He also assured full support from the state government for enhancing cyber security infrastructure.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the operation of the cyber crime helpline, including the call response mechanism and investigation procedures. He directed officials to make Helpline 1930 more robust and efficient and asked them to prepare and implement a detailed policy plan within the next 30 days.
As part of the inspection, Srinivas visited the cyber crime helpline centre established at the Police Headquarters and personally listened to several live complaint calls. He observed the process through which cyber fraud complaints are registered and how FIRs and investigations are initiated.
Additional Director General (Cyber Crime) V.K. Singh briefed the Chief Secretary on the functioning of the call centre and the system adopted for resolving complaints.
Srinivas stressed that technical capabilities and inter-departmental coordination must be strengthened further to ensure prompt action against cyber offences. He directed officials to make the Rajasthan Cyber Crime and Operation Centre (R4C) fully operational at the earliest. He also instructed authorities to improve the existing call centre system so that complaints can be resolved more quickly and effectively.
Several key decisions and directives were issued during the meeting. The number of telephone lines and call operators connected to Helpline 1930 will be increased by June 15 to ensure that every cyber crime victim receives immediate assistance.
Officials were also directed to publish monthly reports to improve the quality of cyber crime reporting and grievance redressal. Cyber police stations across the state were instructed to share information regarding their daily achievements and action taken through social media platforms to increase public awareness and transparency.
The Chief Secretary further directed officials to utilise Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology to make Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 more effective and citizen-friendly.
He also announced that a monthly review mechanism would be introduced to evaluate the performance of the state’s 41 cyber security police stations. Special workshops would be organised for concerned officials to improve efficiency and coordination.
In addition, authorities were instructed to carry out a detailed analysis of the time gap between reporting a cyber crime and blocking the related bank accounts, so that victims can receive faster relief and financial protection.
Expressing confidence in the ongoing efforts, Srinivas said that positive and effective results in cyber crime control would become visible within the next 30 days.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar A. Sawant, DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma, ADG Cyber Crime V.K. Singh, ADG Bhupendra Sahu, DIG Shantanu Singh, SP Sumit Mehrada and other senior officials.
