Delhi LG VK Saxena Distributes Promotions, Financial Benefits to NDMC Staff Under PM’s 100-Day Plan.
New Delhi : Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Delhi, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena today distributed letters of promotion and financial benefits to New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) employees under Prime Minister’s 100 day action plan. This special drive has given financial benefits to 9652 employees of NDMC.
This special drive is in line with Hon’ble LG’s commitment and sustained efforts to provide government employees with better working conditions and ensure their timely career progression. The exercise was also undertaken as a part of the Prime Minister’s 100-days action plan.
On the occasion, Hon’ble Member of Parliament from New Delhi Ms Bansuri Swaraj, NDMC Chairman, Shri Naresh Kumar, Vice Chairman, Shri Satish Upadhyay, Members of the Council, Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Smt. Vishakha Shailani and Shri Girish Sachdeva along with Senior Officers were present.
The LG congratulated the NDMC for expeditiously resolving the pending cases of promotion and other financial issues saying this would come as a big boost for the entire workforce and further motivate them for working in the right earnest. Speaking on the occasion, Saxena expressed his heartfelt gratitude to each member of the team who accomplished this task and congratulated them.
He further said that NDMC has an efficient and dedicated team of about 12000 employees, out of which about 90% are field workers, who are ready to serve this area 24 hours a day and seven days a week in various shifts day and night. We have all seen this in G20.
He hoped that the financial benefits received by the employees as a result of this rapid action will not only give them but also their family members a pleasant feeling with relief. Now they will be able to spend or invest the money received as per their needs.
He informed that the development comes after 4400 contractual employees of NDMC were regularized in May, 2023 which was the big step towards fulfilling the dream of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for work to every hand with honour and future security in Amrit Kaal.
On the occasion, Member of Parliament from New Delhi Ms. Bansuri Swaraj said that it is the day of joy and happiness as the long awaited financial benefit cases of the employees for years have now been resolved. It is like a gift from the Diwali festival. I hope that all the employees who got the benefits will be able to meet their needs and enjoy life with their family. All the members, employees and officers of the special team constituted for this task deserve praise for this accomplishment.
In the last week of June, 2024, Hon’ble LG had directed the NDMC to complete the process of promotion and financial benefits under the MACP schemes of 3178 employees within 15 days. He had also directed for resolving 5561 pending cases of pay fixation under 7th CPC in NDMC. Shri Saxena further directed to resolve the pending service related matters of 9569 employees in various divisions within the next 100 days.
Thereafter, to clear the backlog, Chairman NDMC constituted special teams to work in two shifts in all days of the week including Saturdays and Sundays. The morning shift started from 0700 hours to 1530 hours and the evening shift from 1400 hours to 2200 hours. With consistent efforts and regular monitoring, all pending cases were cleared by the midnight of 1st July, 2024. As many as 90 officers were working round the clock to clear this huge pendency. The infrastructure and manpower was utilized to its maximum capacity to complete this backlog. The exercise has benefited 9652 employees.
Some employees who got the services benefits dues in this drive, they shared their experiences and feelings of the fulfilling long awaited demand.
The Vote of Thanks presented by the Secretary, NDMC Shri Krishna Mohan Uppu with the assurance that every task allotted to the NDMC will be done in time bound manner in full letter and spirit.
