14,419 Metric Tons of Fertilizer Distributed to Farmers in Raigarh District

16,500 Quintals of Seeds Also Supplied

Raipur : In line with the vision of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, special efforts are being made to benefit farmers across the state. Various welfare schemes are being implemented to ensure timely assistance reaches them. In Raigarh district, both the government and administration are continuously working to supply maximum quantities of fertilizer and seeds to farmers through the cooperative sector.

For the Kharif season 2025, advance storage and distribution of fertilizer are being carried out through a total of 69 cooperative societies in the district. Against the target allocation, 18,945 metric tons of fertilizer have been stored, and 14,419 metric tons have already been distributed to nearly 20,000 farmers. Currently, 5,000 metric tons of fertilizer remain in stock with the societies.

Additionally, certified seeds are being provided to farmers through these societies via the State Seed Corporation. Against a total target of 29,417 quintals, 25,000 quintals have been stored, and 16,500 quintals have been distributed to farmers. The storage and distribution of fertilizer are being managed in accordance with the farmers’ demand.

Deputy Director of Agriculture, Mr. Anil Verma, informed that regular inspections are being conducted at shops and with traders to monitor fertilizer stock and ensure it is sold at government-mandated rates. These inspections aim to prevent black marketing and ensure that farmers receive fertilizers and seeds of the correct quality. Samples of fertilizers are being collected during inspections, and disciplinary action will be taken against those found supplying substandard materials.
