CM Yogi’s intervention helps Gorakhpur girl resume studies after fee waiver
Family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
On July 1, Pankhuri had shared her inability to pay school fees during Janata Darshan
Gorakhpur : Faced with financial hardship that had forced her to discontinue school, Pankhuri Tripathi of Purdilpur in Gorakhpur has now resumed her studies without interruption. Following the intervention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during Janata Darshan, the administration and education department coordinated with the school management to waive her fees. A student of Class 7 at Saraswati Shishu Mandir (English Medium), Pankhuri returned to class on Monday after the waiver, and both she and her family have expressed deep gratitude to the Chief Minister.

Notably, during the Chief Minister’s visit to Gorakhpur on July 1, Pankhuri had met him at the Janata Darshan held at the Gorakhnath Temple. “Maharaj ji, I want to study. Please help with the fees or get them waived,” she pleaded. Pankhuri shared that her father, Rajeev Tripathi, was injured and unable to work, leaving the family in financial hardship. Her mother works at a local shop, and her brother is in Class 12. Unable to afford the fees, Pankhuri had been forced to stop attending school.
Moved by her request, the Chief Minister assured her that her education would not be disrupted. “Study well, daughter. We will ensure the fees are either waived or arranged,” he said, directing officials to take immediate action. He also fulfilled her request for a photograph with him during the event.
Following the CM’s instructions, the district administration and the education department contacted the management of Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Pakki Bagh and arranged for Pankhuri’s fees to be waived. She was informed that she could rejoin school from Monday. Wearing her school uniform, Pankhuri attended her Class 7-B class as scheduled.
Thankful to resume her studies, Pankhuri expressed her gratitude to the Chief Minister, saying, “Thank you, Maharaj ji.” She added, “Our Chief Minister is truly kind. It is only because of his help that I could return to school.” Her parents, Rajeev and Meenakshi, also thanked the Chief Minister, saying they had complete faith in him. They added that it was his compassion and sensitive approach that made their daughter’s education possible.
