Specialized training courses in the fisheries and marine sectors will begin from August through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), announced Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister for Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.
At a review meeting held at Vidhan Bhavan to discuss the creation of future-ready skilled manpower for Vadhavan and other port authorities, Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane emphasized the urgent need to start such courses. He stated that developing a skilled workforce for upcoming port infrastructure would support both employment generation and departmental operations.

Ramaswamy, Fisheries Commissioner Kishor Tawde, Director of Vocational Education and Training Madhavi Sardeshmukh, and Palghar District Collector Indumati Jakhad.

The Maharashtra Government, through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, aims to transform ITIs into world-class skill centers. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, the Skill India Mission, the Maharashtra ITI Modernization Policy 2025, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
