Lunglei Receives Prestigious Honour in Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024

Awarded as the Promising Swachh Shehar of Mizoram

New Delhi : The prestigious Swachh Survekshan 2024 Awards, India’s largest urban cleanliness survey recognition program, were held on July 17, 2025, at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

At this national-level event, Lunglei town was conferred the “Promising Swachh Shehar of Mizoram” Award in recognition of its significant efforts in urban sanitation and cleanliness.

Receiving the award on behalf of Lunglei were:

Pu K. Lalrinawma, Vice Chairman, Lunglei Municipal Council
Pi Malsawmtluangi Sailo, Executive Councillor, Lunglei Municipal Council
Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary, UD&PA
Pu Jacob Lalawmpuia, Director, UD&PA

The award was presented by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Pu Manohar Lal.

Following the awards ceremony, a Conference of Urban Development Ministers was held, during which various key departmental initiatives and developments were discussed.
