Construction of New MLA Rest House Reflects a Forward-Looking Vision Rooted in Modern Processes: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Indian culture values the tradition of “Simhavalokan” — reflecting on past experiences to guide future action. The construction of the new MLA Rest House, aligned with present-day requirements and modern methodologies, reflects a forward-looking and progressive vision. This state-of-the-art facility, incorporating the latest advancements in construction and architecture, will provide MLAs with an enhanced environment to serve the public more effectively.

The state government has also allocated Rs. 5 lakh per MLA in the budget for the modernisation of their offices. CM Dr. Yadav announced the approval of the second phase of the new MLA Rest House during his address at the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony.

CM Dr. Yadav was the chief guest, while Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar chaired the event, held at the MLA Rest House campus. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya and Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh were also present on the occasion.

The new complex, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 160 crore, will include 102 flats equipped with all essential facilities. After performing the Bhoomi Pujan, CM Dr. Yadav unveiled the foundation plaque and paid floral tribute to images of Lord Shri Ram and Bharat Mata. The event commenced with the traditional Deep Prajjwalan (lamp lighting) and the rendition of Vande Mataram.

Reiterating the state’s commitment to cleanliness, CM Dr. Yadav stated that Bhopal is being prepared to achieve a top rank in the upcoming Swachh Survekshan. “Any shortcomings will be addressed,” he affirmed. Highlighting India’s strides under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, he noted the growing global admiration for Indian culture, cuisine, and attire—even in European countries like Spain.

The Chief Minister added that irrigation coverage is expanding across Madhya Pradesh, and cleanliness initiatives are gaining momentum. During the holy month of Shravan, Ladli Bahnas (beloved sisters) will receive a special Rs. 250 Shagun gift from the government. He further emphasized the innate generosity of Indian culture, stating that the government, inspired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision, is actively working to ensure quality education, skill development, and technical training for all.

CM Dr. Yadav also highlighted the government’s efforts to foster social harmony through religious and cultural events at temples across the state. Tribal communities from different regions will showcase traditional dance and music during the Mahakal procession.

Speaking on national integrity, CM Dr. Yadav underlined the Centre’s steadfast commitment under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership. He cited landmark decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370 and the abolition of triple talaq, which have empowered Muslim women and reinforced the spirit of unity.

Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar remarked that MLAs, as public representatives, must receive timely and appropriate facilities. The new Rest House fulfils this need. He stated that Madhya Pradesh’s Legislative Assembly will soon become an e-Assembly, benefiting all members. The old MLA Rest House, built in 1958, is now outdated. He commended CM Dr. Yadav for his visionary leadership, including his recent foreign tour to attract investment and the achievements in cleanliness rankings across eight cities. He declared, “Indore has already led the way, and next year Bhopal too will top the list”.

Urban Development & Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said the new facility will be equipped with modern amenities, safety, and technical infrastructure, creating a productive space for MLAs. Reflecting on his early years as an MLA, he noted the significant changes now underway. He stressed continuous efforts to improve access to digital tools and resources, enabling MLAs to play an active role in development. He celebrated the state’s success in cleanliness awards as a symbol of progressive thinking and strong leadership.

Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh observed that democracy is not merely a system of institutions but a fabric woven from public trust and the accountability of representatives. Under CM Dr. Yadav’s leadership, Madhya Pradesh is achieving new milestones in infrastructure development. Inspired by PM Modi’s infrastructure-driven approach, the state is aligning with global standards of construction. He shared that the new MLA Rest House will be earthquake- and fire-resistant. Cities like Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior have earned spots in cleanliness rankings, and more cities are expected to follow.

Principal Secretary of the Assembly Shri Awadhesh Pratap Singh informed that the complex will span 14 acres with 102 flats to be completed within 18 months. It will include facilities such as parking, gymnasium, fire alarm system, sewage treatment plant, clinic, and shopping complex.

The event was also attended by Sports, Youth Welfare & Cooperatives Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang, Minister of State for OBC and Minority Welfare Smt. Krishna Gaur, former Speakers Dr. Sitasharan Sharma and Shri Girish Gautam, MLAs and former Protem Speaker Shri Rameshwar Sharma, MLAs Shri Vishnu Khatri and Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor of Bhopal Smt. Malti Rai, and Municipal Corporation Chairperson Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, among other public representatives.
