Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Becomes a Lifeline for Patients in Need!
Efficient aid mechanism now accessible at the district level; over ₹3.31 crore disbursed in Nanded in six months
Conceived by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) has emerged as a ray of hope for economically disadvantaged and eligible citizens in Maharashtra suffering from critical illnesses. To ensure timely support, CMRF help desks have been established at the district level across the state. These units provide not only financial aid for medical treatment but also emergency relief during natural disasters. Earlier, applicants had to travel to Mumbai for assistance; now, with these decentralized desks, citizens can access help locally.
From January 1 to June 30, 2025, the CMRF and Charitable Hospital Aid Desk in Nanded alone disbursed ₹3.31 crore to assist 385 patients. The rising demand for assistance has been met with proactive response from CMRF staff. Thanks to CM Fadnavis’ directive, every district now has a functioning help desk. In Nanded, the unit was inaugurated on May 1 by Guardian Minister Atul Save. Ramashwar Naik has been appointed as the nodal officer to manage operations.
