UP promotes Panchgavya-based skincare, pushes biogas for green mobility

Lucknow : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ambitious initiative “Go Seva Se Samriddhi” is set to give a new direction to the state’s economy, environment, and rural lifestyle. For the first time, innovative projects using Panchgavya to create skincare products, organic pesticides, and biogas are being introduced to make rural areas self-reliant.

Under this initiative, multiple projects are being launched across Uttar Pradesh, combining traditional beliefs with modern technology to generate new avenues of income and employment in villages. The vision includes producing skincare items from Panchgavya, running vehicles on biogas, and promoting green farming with organic products under CM Yogi’s leadership.

The program will initially be rolled out in Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Agra, Bareilly, and Jhansi, marking a major step towards sustainable rural development. Innovation-based projects are being launched in 8 districts of Uttar Pradesh, aiming to protect cattle and promote rural innovation.

  • Gorakhpur – Setting up a dual-feed biogas plant
  • Agra – Panchgavya-based skincare unit
  • Ayodhya – Organic pesticide production unit
  • Bareilly – Bio-fencing and solar shed project
  • Chitrakoot – Fodder bank for Bundelkhand region
  • Kanpur – Urban Cow Adoption model
  • Varanasi – Ganga Basin Carbon Offset project
  • Jhansi – Cactus-based mixed biogas research center

The state has set a target to develop a self-income capacity of Rs 25 lakh per year in 75 selected cow shelters. This innovation will create a sustainable economic model for farmers and cattle rearers. With this, cow shelters will not just serve as protection centers but will also function as hubs for production and research.

Gau Seva Commission Chairman Shyam Bihari Gupta said that cow-based products will help farmers and rural communities earn more at a lower cost. Panchgavya, biogas, organic pesticides, and bio-fencing will bring new economic energy to villages.

CM Yogi’s ‘gram-urja’ model is set to transform villages. Biogas plants, Panchgavya-based product units, and organic fertilizer and pesticide facilities will be established to promote clean energy, agricultural improvement, and new employment opportunities. Vehicles will also be powered by biogas, with a detailed action plan being prepared. This initiative is expected to reduce LPG consumption and protect the environment.

CM Yogi emphasized that cow service will no longer be seen only as a tradition but will be linked to economic growth, innovation, and environmental balance. This approach will strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s journey towards self-reliance. Dr. Anurag Srivastava, OSD of the Gau Seva Commission, said that the production of Panchgavya-based products will bring a revolutionary change to the state’s rural economy.
