40,000 Candidates to Face Rigorous Physical Test for 5000 Haryana Police Constable Posts
PMT for Male Constable (General Duty) to Continue Until July 23
Eight Times the Number of Candidates to Compete for 5,000 Posts
Chandigarh – Haryana Staff Selection Commission Chairman, Sh. Himmat Singh stated that for the 5,000 male constable (general duty) posts in Haryana Police, a total of eight times the number of candidates will undergo the Physical Measurement Test (PMT). In the first phase, a schedule for six times the number of candidates has been released. According to this schedule, PMT started on July 16, 2024, at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Sector-3, Panchkula district, and will continue until July 23. On the first day, 2,000 candidates were called, while from July 18, 5,000 candidates will be called daily for the PMT.
Sh. Himmat Singh elaborated that approximately 40,000 candidates will undergo the PMT at the rate of eight times the number of posts. Following this, a PMT schedule for 1,000 posts of female constable (general duty) will also be released. Eight times the number of candidates relative to the number of posts will be called for the PMT, he added.
He mentioned that complete transparency is being maintained in the PMT, ensuring that no candidate is replaced by someone else.
PMT Procedure
Each candidate is given a display slip of the minimum eligibility criteria for height and chest measurement after entry. The candidate has to state their name, father’s name, and allotted chest number, during which their voice is recorded. Subsequently, biometric and eye scanning of the candidates are conducted at three different points.
To ensure candidate satisfaction, 20 digital measurement stands have been set up. Coaches from the sports department and other experts have been assigned duties at each stand. On these digital stands, candidates can see their height and chest measurements displayed on the board.
If any candidate is declared non-qualified during the measurement, they can appeal immediately on the spot. A special help desk has been established to hear such appeals. If the officials find the appeal valid, the candidate will have to undergo the measurement process again.
