Eastern Railway FIRST Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The 1st Indian Railways Basketball Women’s Mini League Championship 2025, hosted by Eastern Railway Sports Association (ERSA), has concluded today i.e., 27th. July, 2025. The 03 days tournament, which was inaugurated on 25.07.2025, was held at the Eastern Railway Indoor Stadium, James long Sarani, Behala, Kolkata.
Central Railway emerged as the Champion of the 1st Indian Railways Basketball Women’s Mini League Championship 2025, while Integral Coach Factory secured the Runner-Up position. Eastern Railway claimed the 2nd Runner-Up position.

The championship witnessed participation from five teams representing various Railway zones and production units. A total of 75 participants competed in the league matches, including several Arjuna Awardees and renowned International and National sportspersons
The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway and the Chief Guest of the occasion. After the final match, Mr. Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager / Eastern Railway distributed trophies and medals to the Champion team. While congratulating all the participants for being a part of this first ever tournament, Mr. Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway, extended his congratulations to both the champion and runners-up teams and applauded the efforts of the Eastern Railway Sports Association for organising this prestigious national-level event.

AGM was joined by other senior officials, including Mr. Satyaki Nath, CAO (System) and the President of Eastern Railway Sports Association, Mr. Uday Shankar Jha, Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM), Mr. Vikram Gupta, Principal Chief Engineer (PCE), and Mr. Sandeep Shukla, Principal Chief Materials Manager (PCMM), whose presence added further prestige to the occasion. Mr. Sunny Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Sports Association and Dy. CAO/Sales, also played a key role in organizing and coordinating the event.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Satyaki Nath, Chief Administrative Officer (System) / Eastern Railway & President of ERSA, remarked that this championship is a testament to the talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship of the railway fraternity. He emphasized that such events not only showcase athletic prowess but also foster camaraderie, exchange of ideas, and a collective effort to elevate the standards of Basketball within Indian Railways.
