New Education Policy to Boost Employment, Skill Development: School Education Minister Shri Singh
School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh said that biggest transformation in India’s education sector since 2014 is the implementation of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He emphasised that this is a significant decision taken by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the field of education. The NEP will strengthen skill development among school students and enhance future employment opportunities. He also highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states effectively implementing NEP.
Minister Singh made these remarks while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of student council at Model School, TT Nagar, Bhopal. On this occasion, he also felicitated meritorious students who scored over 90 percent in Class 10 and 12 board exams.
Speaking on the quality of schools in the state, the School Education Minister said that around 75,000 schools have been developed with comprehensive facilities under the categories of Model, Excellence and PM SHRI schools. Approximately 300 schools are being run as Sandipani Vidyalayas to offer world-class educational facilities. He said that Sandipani School in Ratlam has earned a place among world’s best schools, which is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh.
Discussing Model School at TT Nagar, he said the school has earned a distinct reputation due to its excellence, and its alumni have achieved recognition at national and international levels.
Digital Attendance System
Minister Singh said that the digital attendance system introduced in state-run schools is also convenient for teachers. Through this digital platform, teachers can apply for leave and register accounting-related or other concerns. The system will be operated from a command centre in Bhopal. He said that the School Education Department will soon announce a compassionate appointment policy, which will ensure timely resolution of appointment-related cases of deceased teachers’ families.
MLA Shri Bhagwan Das Sabnani also addressed the event. School Principal Smt. Rekha Sharma shared information about awards received by the school in the field of quality education. She mentioned that through the student council elections, children were taught about election process and importance of democracy. On this occasion, students presented vibrant group dances representing India’s diverse cultural heritage.
The event was attended by local councillor Smt. Anita Aneja, Vice Principal Shri R.K. Srivastava, faculty members and parents. The programme was conducted by teacher Dr. Shabnam Khan.
