National Symposium on Anti-Human Trafficking Day, July 30 – “From Sensitivity to Resolution: Fighting Exploitation”

Mumbai – The United Nations has declared July 30 as World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. To mark the occasion, the Maharashtra State Commission for Women is organizing a national symposium titled “From Sensitivity to Resolution: Fighting Exploitation” on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Sahyadri Guest House. The event, conceptualized by Commission Chairperson Mrs. Rupali Chakankar, will be guided by Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairperson of the Legislative Council, Environment Minister Pankaja Munde, and Women & Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare.

Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing crimes globally, and India is no exception. The symposium aims to raise awareness and foster discussions on the issue. Experts from across the country will deliberate on topics such as types of trafficking, identifying victims, training stakeholders to prevent trafficking, strengthening coordination among agencies, providing assistance and judicial support to victims, rehabilitation measures, and awareness campaigns.

Participants will include representatives from the police, railway police force, legal experts, public prosecutors, women and child protection officers, the transport sector, NGOs, and technical specialists.
