Diamond Jubilee State Film Awards Ceremony to be Held in Mumbai

Presentation of the 60th and 61st Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards along with the Prestigious Lata Mangeshkar Award

Announcement of the New ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Heritage Award’

Mumbai, Aug 2025 : The Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards, which began in the 1960s by honoring Marathi films, artists, and technicians in a grand ceremony, will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 6:30 PM at The Dome, SVP Stadium, Worli.

In these awards, the most prestigious honor in the field of music, the ‘GaanSamragni Lata Mangeshkar Award 2025’, will be presented to renowned Ghazal singer Bhimrao Panchale. Additionally, the Chitrapati Late V. Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 will be conferred on famous director and actor Mahesh Manjrekar, while the Chitrapati Late V. Shantaram Special Contribution Award will be given to actress Mukta Barve. Furthermore, the Late Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 will be awarded to veteran actor Anupam Kher, and the Late Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award will be presented to actress Kajol.

Alongside these prestigious awards, the newly announced ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Heritage Award 2025’ will honor individuals dedicated to preserving cultural heritage and history. Moreover, the 60th and 61st Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards will also be presented on this occasion.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will preside over the award distribution ceremony. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Minister of Cultural Affairs Adv. Ashish Shelar will also be present as distinguished guests.

To commemorate the Diamond Jubilee journey of the Maharashtra State Marathi Film Awards, a special souvenir will be released during the event, celebrating Maharashtra’s cultural grandeur.

This award ceremony, which has continuously honored Marathi cinema professionals for over 60 years, has reached a significant milestone. Under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Kulkarni, Secretary of the Department of Cultural Affairs, extensive preparations for this event are underway. Swati Mhase-Patil, Managing Director of the Maharashtra Film, Theatre, and Cultural Development Corporation, mentioned that this Diamond Jubilee celebration will be a unique moment not only for the entertainment industry but also in the cultural history of Maharashtra.

Entry passes for the program will be available free of cost at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Shivaji Mandir, Sahitya Sangh, Dinanath Natya Gruha, and Prabhodhan Thackeray Natya Gruha.
