Election Commission is Speaking Like a BJP Cell Head: Saurabh Bhardwaj

New Delhi, Aug 2025 : Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission over its remarks regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar. He alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) is issuing statements as if he were the head of a BJP wing.

Bhardwaj accused the Modi government of appointing its “Yes Man” as the Chief Election Commissioner, who is now merely echoing their narrative. He suggested that the CEC should place a photo of former Chief Election Commissioner T.N. Seshan in his office and look at it every morning and evening, so that it may help “purify his thoughts.”

Criticizing the CEC’s recent remarks, Bhardwaj said, “The way the Chief Election Commissioner is making statements, it seems like he is speaking as the president of a BJP cell. It is now evident that after a bureaucrat’s retirement, the Central Government appoints its Yes Men as the CEC. Post-retirement, these individuals get a jackpot of perks—official cars, bungalows, and power. In return, they act as the government’s cheerleaders, beating drums wherever needed.”

He reiterated that installing T.N. Seshan’s photograph in the CEC’s office and reflecting upon it daily would help bring some ideological purification.
