Before commencing his speech, CM Stalin shared a significant announcement that had become the “Talk of the Town” and “Talk of the Nation” — Tamil Nadu’s economy has achieved an impressive 11.19% growth rate under the Dravidian Model governance.

Highlighting this remarkable feat, the Chief Minister stated that Tamil Nadu has once again touched double-digit economic growth after 14 years — the last being during 2010-11 under the leadership of the legendary Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi. The Union Government’s revised estimates officially recorded Tamil Nadu’s economic growth at 11.19% for the fiscal year 2024-25, surpassing the earlier estimate of 9.69%.

“This is not an individual victory but a collective achievement of our entire administration — Ministers, Officers, and Government employees — who have diligently implemented every single initiative of the Dravidian Model Governance,” CM Stalin emphasized. He attributed this progress to the unwavering trust and support of the people of Tamil Nadu, calling it a “certificate of success” for the government’s relentless efforts to ensure development reaches every citizen.

CM Stalin reiterated the government’s commitment to providing employment opportunities for the youth, stating, “Our Dravidian Model Government is a government for the youth. Through schemes like ‘Naan Mudhalvan’, ‘Tamil Pudhalvan’, and ‘Puthumai Penn’, we are empowering students and young professionals with the skills and qualifications necessary for a progressive future.”

In the past four years, the state has facilitated:

  • 1,08,111 appointments through TNPSC, TRB, MRB, TNUSRB, and other recruitment agencies.
  • 3,28,393 employment opportunities through ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ Skill Development Camps.
  • 2,65,223 placements via job fairs organized through the Labour and Employment Department.
  • 84 appointments for sportspersons through reservation quotas in government jobs.
  • 89 candidates secured positions in central government jobs through Naan Mudhalvan.
  • 18 candidates placed in top multinational corporations.

Altogether, 6,41,664 youths have secured employment opportunities in the past four years through these initiatives.

The Chief Minister announced future plans to provide laptops to 20 lakh college students, initiate hostels in various districts, and continue skill training programs to further enhance employability. He emphasized that “Education is a wealth no one can steal” and urged the youth to continuously upgrade their skills to stay competitive in the rapidly changing world.

Addressing the newly appointed employees, CM Stalin said, “Today, you have become a part of the government workforce. Use this opportunity to serve the people with dedication and integrity. Be compassionate, listen to citizens’ grievances, and ensure efficient service delivery. If we stand with the people, the people will stand with us.”

He concluded by encouraging the newly appointed employees to take pride in their work and contribute positively to their families, communities, and the state’s progress.
