Health Minister Launches Standard Treatment Guidelines (Stg) 2025

Aug 2025 : Health & Family Welfare Minister Pi Lalrinpuii officially launched the Standard Treatment Guidelines (STG) 2025 — Mizoram’s first edition — at her office. The guidelines cover 248 different diseases and their respective treatment protocols.

Minister Lalrinpuii described the release as a significant achievement for the State, noting that only a few states in India have their own treatment guidelines. She expressed confidence that the STG will be a valuable resource for doctors and healthcare workers across Mizoram, particularly in remote areas. She also expressed her gratitude to the State Health Team, the Core Committee, and the Expert Team for their efforts in preparing the guidelines.

The first edition of the Standard Treatment Guidelines includes detailed treatment protocols for 248 diseases, prepared by subject specialists — not only from India but also drawing from global expertise — and tailored to the specific needs of Mizoram. In addition to the printed version, a web-based online version has also been developed for easy access.

The STG 2025 launch event was chaired by Dr. Lalthlengliani, Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare Department, who expressed her appreciation to everyone involved. Dr. Vanlalhruaii, Secretary of the Core Committee on STG, explained the process of developing the guidelines. Dr. Lily Chhakchhuak, Project Director, MHSSP and Mission Director, NHM, commended the dedication of the team and thanked all contributors.

The Expert Team consisted of 19 members: 13 from Zoram Medical College & Hospital, 3 from Civil Hospital Aizawl, 1 from Kulikawn Sub-District Hospital, 1 from the Directorate of Hospital and Medical Education, and 1 from the Mizoram State Health Care Society.
