Ensure Reorganization of All Polling Stations with More Than 1,200 Voters – Chief Electoral Officer
Review meeting held on polling station reorganization
Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Chief Electoral Officer Shri Naveen Mahajan on Friday issued directions to all District Election Officers in the state regarding the reorganization of polling stations. Through a video conference from the State Secretariat, he instructed all Divisional Commissioners, District Election Officers, and Electoral Registration Officers to ensure, as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, that all polling stations with more than 1,200 voters are reorganized.
According to Shri Mahajan, during the reorganization process, voters should, as far as possible, be adjusted to other nearby polling stations. If such adjustment is not possible, only then should a polling station be split. In cases where a section is divided, all voters from a single family must be kept together.
Regarding the reorganization proposals, meetings were held with representatives of recognized political parties in Beawar and Bharatpur on August 5; in Ajmer, Balotra, Churu, Didwana-Kuchaman, Deeg, Dholpur, Jaisalmer, Karauli, Nagaur, Pratapgarh, Salumber, Tonk, and Sikar on August 6; and in Alwar, Banswara, Baran, Barmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dungarpur, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jalore, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Khairthal-Tijara, Kota, Kotputli-Behror, Pali, Phalodi, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi, and Udaipur on August 7 to discuss the matter.
