Greeting the sisters present, the Chief Minister said that this festival holds great importance in our culture, symbolising the unbreakable bond between brothers and sisters. Such festivals carry the message of harmony and unity. He said that sisters have an important contribution in carrying forward our traditions and heritage. By playing various roles within the family, sisters take on the responsibility of nurturing and preserving it, which is why they hold the highest place in our culture. Shri Sharma added that on this sacred occasion of Raksha Bandhan, he has received the love and blessings of both elder and younger sisters, which is for him an impenetrable shield of protection.

The Chief Minister called upon the sisters present to, along with fulfilling family responsibilities, also engage in social work and play an active role in ensuring that deprived brothers and sisters receive the benefits of welfare schemes run by the Central and State governments. Only then, he said, will society see change.

The Chief Minister emphasised that the education and empowerment of mothers and sisters is key to making the country and state truly excellent. He said that the women of our nation have created history through their remarkable deeds, and urged the students to also act courageously in life and fulfil their dreams.

On this occasion, women from fields including medicine, law and order, and justice expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the State Government’s efforts towards women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment.
