Rail Coach Unit Near Capital Will Boost Infrastructure: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that under the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state is getting a big gift of rail coach unit. The bhoomipujan of the project will be performed by Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh on August 10 at Dussehra Maidan in Obeidullaganj. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Defence Production Secretary Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Chairman of Railway Board Shri Satish Kumar, Chairman of Bharat Earth Movers Project Shri Shantanu Rai will be present at the programme. On this occasion, a short film focused on BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Ltd) project, 3D walk-through of the proposed plant and models of new plants will be displayed.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Bharat Earth Movers project will build Brahma Project (BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing) on more than 60 hectares of land near Bhopal district border in village Umariya of Raisen at a cost of Rs 1800 crores. This will benefit capital Bhopal as well as Raisen, Sehore and Vidisha districts. Employment opportunities will be created for students studying in technical institutions of these districts. More than 5000 people will get direct and indirect employment from this project. The metropolitan city of Bhopal, developing as a metropolitan area, will gain greatly from this project. This project is an expression of the Make in India mission under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi. The coaches of Vande Bharat-Amrit Bharat and metro trains made here will mark a new era for the entire Indian Rail system. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that not only the capital region, but this ambitious project which will accelerate state development and generate new employment opportunities will also benefit the nearby industrial area Mandideep.

Will Write New Chapter of Development: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav described the rail coach factory as an important step in the development of the state and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a new chapter of industrial development will be written. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, investors from Madhya Pradesh as well as other states of India are being invited. In this process, a few months ago during the visit to BEML institute in Bangalore, the decision was made to establish the rail coach factory in Raisen district.

Plant Will Work According to Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat Objectives

‘Brahma’ plant will work fully in accordance with the objectives of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Most of the technology and materials used in the plant will be developed and manufactured in the country, reducing foreign dependence. This project will be an important step to make the state a national leader in the field of defence manufacturing.

Special attention will be given to environmental standards in the construction of this plant. Zero liquid waste system, use of solar and renewable energy, rainwater harvesting, and green landscaping will be adopted here. The factory will be developed as per green factory standards using recycled and sustainable materials in construction.

The initial production capacity of the project will be 125 to 200 coaches per year, which will be increased to 1100 coaches per year in five years. This unit’s operation will generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, providing high-level industrial employment opportunities for youth of the state in their own state. Also, the technological capabilities developed here will make the state competitive in the global market for high-speed rail and metro construction.
