Rajasthan to Host Army Day Parade for First Time in Jaipur

Jaipur, Aug 2025 – Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced that for the first time, the prestigious Army Day Parade will be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital, on January 15. Traditionally organised within military areas, the parade will this year be presented before the general public, aiming to inspire patriotism among the youth and showcase to the world the emerging image of a changing India.

Chairing a meeting with senior officials of the Indian Army and the state government at his residence on Tuesday, the Chief Minister emphasised that the Indian Army is globally recognised for its courage and valour. He said that the event should be made grand, reflecting Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage alongside the nation’s military pride.

Special Focus on Youth Participation
The CM directed that maximum participation from school and college students, tourists, and the general public be ensured. He instructed the Jaipur District Collector to prepare a detailed roadmap of the venue, keeping spectator capacity in mind, and to include arrangements for parking and traffic management. The program, he stressed, should prominently feature glimpses of Rajasthan’s unique traditions.

Planned Activities
Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, head of the Indian Army’s South Western Command, said that Jaipur was chosen to bring the Army closer to the public and inspire young people. Various events such as blood donation camps, an Honor Run, a cycle rally, and “Know Your Army” activities will precede the parade.

On the parade day, the program will feature marching contingents, tanks, artillery, missiles, the Army band, motorcycle stunts, and thematic tableaux. A grand “Shaurya Sandhya” will also be organised to display the Army’s combat skills and cultural heritage.

Major General Amar Ramdasani briefed the CM on preparations through a presentation, attended by Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant and senior officers from the Army and state government.
