Law to Curb Religious Conversions to Be Introduced in Assembly
Raipur, Aug 2025 : Addressing the Sanskriti Gaurav Mahasammelan and Felicitation Ceremony held in Dharamjaigarh, Raigarh, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that Late Kumar Dilip Singh Judev was not only a political guide but also a true torchbearer of Sanatan Dharma and Indian culture. He said that through the “Ghar Wapsi” initiative, Judev ji showed the path back to their original faith for those who had converted under pressure or external influence. In tribal areas especially, he led a strong movement against religious conversions and reconnected people with their cultural identity and traditions.
The CM announced that a law will be passed in the state assembly to effectively curb religious conversions, thereby protecting Sanatan culture and traditions. He stated, “With the blessings of the people and saints of the state, a farmer’s son has become the Chief Minister, and in my one-and-a-half-year tenure, it has been our priority to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees on the ground.”
Highlighting the state government’s achievements, CM Sai mentioned initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal, distribution of pending bonuses, Mahatari Vandan Yojana, increased tendu leaf collection rates, revival of the Charan Paduka Yojana, Ramlala Darshan Yojana, Teerth Yatra Yojana, Atal Digital Seva Kendras, and the simplification of land mutation and registration processes—all reflecting the government’s commitment to public welfare.
Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary said that Late Dilip Singh Judev was not only a pioneer in politics but also dedicated his life to preserving religious and cultural values. He noted that soon after the formation of the government, under the CM’s leadership, a pending bonus of ₹3,716 crore was distributed to over 1.3 million farmers, 21 quintals per acre of paddy were procured at ₹3,100 per quintal, and nearly 57,000 women in Dharamjaigarh are receiving ₹1,000 monthly assistance under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana. Under the PM Awas Yojana, 1.8 million houses have been sanctioned across the state, including 26,059 in Dharamjaigarh alone.
During his visit to Dharamjaigarh, the CM inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development works worth over ₹100 crore, including roads, bridges, electricity, and health infrastructure.
Announcements included ₹10 crore for the Nagar Panchayat area (construction of Gaurav Path, sports complex, expansion and renovation of Nehru Garden) and ₹50 crore for rural areas (including bridges over the Saria River on the Dharamjaigarh-Ongna and Khadgaon-Krondha roads, among other road and bridge works). He also announced the upgradation of Chhal Primary Health Centre to a Community Health Centre, establishment of a 132 kV substation worth ₹50 crore, and beautification of Ambetikra Temple.
At the event, hundreds of beneficiaries received benefits from various schemes, including smartphones, Mahajal equipment, Charan Padukas, merit-based education assistance, Ayushman Cards, horticulture plants, community investment fund cheques, B-1 land records and map copies, and allocations under the PM Janman Awas Yojana.
The program was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh, Lok Sabha MP Radheshyam Rathiya, Kumar Prabal Pratap Singh Judev, and Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Jivardhan Chouhan.
