Sulwade–Jamphal–Kanoli Project Nears Completion, Says Guardian Minister Jaykumar Rawal

52,720 hectares of farmland to come under irrigation soon

Dhule, Aug 2025 : The Sulwade–Jamphal–Kanoli Lift Irrigation Scheme, crucial for Shindkheda and Dhule talukas in Dhule district, has achieved 81.44% completion, with all works progressing steadily. Once completed, the project will bring 52,720 hectares of farmland under irrigation. Specifically, 54 villages in Shindkheda taluka will benefit, covering 26,907 hectares. The Pressurised Distribution Network (PDN) to deliver water from the Sulwade–Jamphal dam directly to farmers’ fields via enclosed pipelines is also moving forward, informed Guardian Minister Jaykumar Rawal.

Minister Rawal personally inspected all works of the project today, praising the pace and quality of progress. The on-site briefing was given by Executive Engineer Sandeep Pawar and Deputy Engineer Vishal Khairnar. Also present were Deputy Engineer Chandrashekhar Patil, Nitin Patil, Ketan Desale from the Water Resources Department, along with representatives from Indian Hume Pipe Company, Mr. Joshi and Mr. Shingote, and other officials.

During the inspection, it was reported that over 80% of works— including the Jamphal dam, various pump houses, vertical and gravity pipelines— have been completed. Specific progress includes: Dabhashi pump house (95%), Gorane (99%), Songir (98%), and Wadjai (99%). The Pimple dam is complete, while Velhane and Babre dams are at 37% and 60% completion respectively. The pump house at Mauje Laling is 94% complete.

The PDN pipeline work to deliver water directly to farms from the dam is advancing well, with over 165 km of the main pipeline already laid. Pipeline connections to villages such as Sarve, Kalmadi, Malich, Waghode, Ajande Bk., Betavad, Padhavad, Paste, Mudavad, Mhalasar, Warud, Babale, Jatode, Pimpalkheda, Nardana, Pimprad, Kamkhede, Wadali, Humbarde, Weekwel, Waghadi Kh., Waghadi Bk., Bhilanedigar, Melane, Walkheda, and Babhalde are also progressing steadily.

Construction of 12 Water Users Association buildings under the scheme is underway. Commending the Water Resources Department for their swift work, Minister Rawal expressed satisfaction and instructed officials to ensure timely completion so that farmers can start reaping the benefits as soon as possible.
