Jodhpur Hosts State-Level 79th Independence Day Celebration at Barkatullah Khan Stadium – Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has become self-reliant, prosperous, and happy, offering ample opportunities for progress to every citizen. Addressing the Independence Day celebrations at Jodhpur’s Barkatullah Khan Stadium on Friday, CM Sharma extended greetings to all citizens, paid tribute to known and unknown freedom fighters, and remembered the brave soldiers safeguarding the nation’s borders. He also thanked police personnel, civil organizations, and social service institutions for their invaluable contributions to nation-building.
Adding “Jai Anusandhan” to “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan”
The CM praised the Prime Minister’s historic decisions and welfare schemes such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. He emphasized the need for every citizen to contribute actively to India’s progress by embracing indigenous products under the “Vocal for Local” initiative. He said that “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan, Jai Vigyan” should now include “Jai Anusandhan” (Hail Research).

New India Believes in Action, Not Just Words
Sharma said India, under PM Modi, has emerged as both an economic and military power, citing the success of Operation Sindoor as an example of the nation’s resolve to compromise neither on security nor on honor.
Water, Roads, Energy, and Green Initiatives
The CM highlighted projects to make Rajasthan self-reliant in water, such as the Ramjal Setu Link Project and the Yamuna Water Agreement. Under “Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan,” 15 crore plants have been planted so far, with a target of 50 crore in five years. In infrastructure, the government aims to develop a 53,000 km road network in 5 years, strengthen rural roads, and provide daytime electricity to farmers.

Investment, Employment, and Welfare
Sharma announced that investment proposals worth over ₹35 lakh crore from the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit are being implemented. He noted Rajasthan’s exceptional performance in mineral block auctions and outlined employment goals — 4 lakh government jobs and 6 lakh private-sector jobs in 5 years, with 75,000 appointment letters already issued. Welfare measures include subsidized gas cylinders for women, free treatment up to ₹25 lakh under the CM Ayushman Arogya Scheme, and savings bonds for girls under the Lado Protsahan Yojana.
Good Governance and Women’s Safety
The CM reaffirmed the government’s commitment to good governance through initiatives like the Pandit Deendayal Antyodaya Sambal Fortnight and measures to strengthen women’s safety, including 500 Kalika Patrolling Units, anti-Romeo squads, and action against cybercrime.
Cultural Heritage Meets Development in Jodhpur
Calling Jodhpur a land of valor, culture, and heritage, Sharma said it stands as an example of balancing tradition and development. The event featured a parade, aerial flower showers from an MI-17 helicopter, folk performances by artists from various states, school band displays, equestrian shows, camel tattoo displays, and weapon exhibitions by armed forces. The celebration concluded with the national anthem.
Dignitaries present included Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, Rajasthan State Farmers’ Commission Chairman C.R. Chaudhary, MPs P.P. Chaudhary and Rajendra Gehlot, MLAs, senior officials, and a large public gathering.
