“Our government delivers on what it promises; work on the historic circuit will soon take shape,” says Deputy CM
Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Monday visited Kumbhalgarh Fort in Rajsamand district, where she chaired a review meeting on the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit project.

The meeting was attended by Rajasthan Heritage Authority Chairman Omkar Singh Lakhawat, Kumbhalgarh MLA Surendra Singh Rathore, Nathdwara MLA Vishwaraj Singh Mewar, Tourism Commissioner IAS Rukmani Riar, along with local citizens and public representatives in large numbers.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for consistently supporting the project, Diya Kumari said that the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit will be developed at a rapid pace and will mark a historic milestone in Rajasthan’s tourism and heritage development.
She assured that suggestions from community representatives, public leaders, and citizens would be considered in the final plan, and confirmed that Kumbhalgarh would be included in the circuit. She instructed the consultant planner to finalize the blueprint quickly.
Highlighting the government’s vision, the Deputy CM said:
“Our aim is to ensure Rajasthan progresses in every field. Significant work is already being done in tourism across different regions of the state, and the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit will be a landmark achievement.”
Chairman Lakhawat informed that the plan for the circuit would be finalized soon and tendering would begin, ensuring swift execution.
MLA Vishwaraj Singh Mewar stressed that the circuit should not only highlight tourism but also accurately represent the life and legacy of Maharana Pratap, balancing history with development. Similarly, MLA Surendra Singh Rathore gave inputs on local tourism growth and raised constituency issues before the Deputy CM.
The consultant presented a detailed plan covering historic sites linked to Maharana Pratap’s life—including Gogunda, Haldighati, Dewar, Chapli, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, and Kumbhalgarh—with proposed development works. Future possibilities were also discussed, including a special tourist train, modeled on Palace on Wheels and Maharaja Express, connecting key sites associated with Maharana Pratap.
It is noteworthy that the state government, in its budget announcement, allocated ₹100 crore for developing the Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit. Work is now progressing rapidly to bring this vision into reality.
