Patient Sadashiv Badwane Receives ₹1 Lakh Assistance for Treatment from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund
Aug 2025 : In order to ensure that citizens of the state lead a healthy life, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is being utilized to provide medical assistance to poor and needy patients. This initiative has become a strong support system for families facing health crises. In today’s fast-paced life, many unexpected health challenges arise, and often, a family is suddenly struck by a serious illness that shakes their morale. In such situations, the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has proven to be a major source of relief for patients and their families.
Under the guidance of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, this scheme has been implemented to provide financial aid for the treatment of severe illnesses to economically weaker sections of society. Since May 1, 2025, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Cells have been set up at every district level, eliminating the need for patients to travel to Mumbai for assistance. Now, patients can apply for financial help in their own districts and also receive updates about the status of their applications locally.
In Nanded, the Relief Fund Cell is functioning at the District Collector’s office premises. So far, 539 patients have received financial assistance worth ₹4.42 crore through this cell, according to information provided by the Nanded unit of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Cell.
As part of feedback collection from beneficiaries, the cell recorded the experience of Mr. Sadashiv Ganeshrao Badwane (55), a farmer from Pimpalgaon Korka village, Nanded taluka. His son, Rahul, narrated their ordeal. One day, his father developed a sudden fever and was admitted to a hospital. At Shri Ganga Hospital in Nanded, doctors revealed that the fever had affected his brain. The treatment required heavy expenses, which the family, being small landholder farmers with limited income, could not afford. During this time, Sadashiv slipped into a coma, and the family struggled to arrange money while rushing for his treatment.
He was treated at Shri Ganga Hospital, Nanded, for around 17–18 days. Meanwhile, the family applied for help through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Cell, submitting all necessary documents. Their application was approved quickly, and they received ₹1 lakh financial aid. With this support, Sadashiv underwent successful treatment, recovered fully, and has now returned home safely.
Expressing their heartfelt gratitude, his son Rahul, daughter Jayshree, and wife Parvatibai said that it was only because of the government’s initiative that Sadashiv’s life was saved. They thanked the Maharashtra government for the assistance.
This financial aid is proving to be a ray of hope for needy and deserving beneficiaries across the state, offering them critical support during times of severe medical crises.
