Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani Extends Warm Welcome to Bhutanese Leaders.
Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani recently welcomed Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay during their visit to the Adani Group’s 30 GW Renewable Energy site in Khavda and Mundra Port in Gujarat. On X, Mr. Adani expressed his gratitude, stating, “Immensely grateful to His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan and Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay for visiting Adani’s 30 GW Renewable Energy site at Khavda and Mundra Port. Deeply inspired by Bhutan’s vibrant spirit and steadfast commitment to eco-friendly initiatives.”
He further added, “We are excited about doing our part to foster collaboration with the Land of the Thunder Dragon for a sustainable and greener future.” Mr. Adani’s enthusiasm highlights the potential for future partnerships aimed at advancing environmental sustainability and green energy.
In a recent development, Mr. Adani met with Bhutanese leaders in Thimphu where he announced a significant agreement for a 570 MW green hydro plant in Bhutan. He also expressed admiration for Bhutan’s ongoing infrastructure initiatives, saying, “Absolutely fascinating meeting with Dasho Tshering Tobgay, Hon. Prime Minister of Bhutan. Signed an MoU with DGPC for a 570 MW green hydro plant in Chukha province.”
Mr. Adani praised Bhutan’s progress under the leadership of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and expressed eagerness to collaborate on hydro and other infrastructure projects in the country. He concluded, “Admirable to see @pmo_bhutan advancing the vision of His Majesty The King and pursuing broad-ranging infrastructure initiatives across the kingdom. Looking forward to working closely on hydro & other infra in Bhutan.”
