UPSIFS Successfully Concludes Three-Day International Summit
Lucknow, Aug 2025 – The three-day International Summit held at the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS) in Lucknow has concluded successfully. The Chief Guest, Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan, and Guest of Honor, Justice Rajiv Singh, shared their insights on this occasion. Prominent figures such as Dr. Porvi Pokhriyal, Director of NFSU Delhi, Dr. Amar Pal Singh, VC of RMLNLU, and Mr. Brijesh Singh, IPS, Maharashtra, also participated in the event.

Chief Guest Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan commended UPSIFS for its excellence in forensic science and termed it a milestone for future forensic scientists and legal experts. He emphasized that UPSIFS is gaining importance and is progressing due to its quality and the availability of modern equipment.
Guest of Honor Justice Rajiv Singh highlighted the rapidly changing landscape of forensic science and the pivotal role of UPSIFS in this evolution. He stated that the institute is making significant contributions to establishing modern dimensions of forensic science in the country.
Prof. Amar Pal Singh spoke about the interrelationship between law and technology, warning that the pace of technological development is so fast that law often lags behind. Meanwhile, Prof. Porvi Pokhriyal commented on the limitations of Indian laws in the context of cyber crimes, underscoring the need to learn from international experiences.
Guest Speaker ADG Mr. Brijesh Singh stressed the necessity of justice and the rule of law, noting that without scientific investigation, the conviction rate remains low. He regarded cyber crimes as a significant challenge for the future.
Founder Director Dr. G.K. Goswami presented the concept of “Law with Labs,” which integrates practical forensic training into legal education. He also shed light on FAAS (Forensic as a Service), an on-demand service that provides forensic expertise to legal and police departments.
