Relief Operations Led by Disaster Management Minister in Jadavata Village, Sawai Madhopur

Administration, Police, Army and Rescue Teams Mobilized to Tackle Flooding and Waterlogging

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Continuous heavy rainfall over the past three days has created a severe situation of waterlogging and erosion in Jadavata village and surrounding areas of Sawai Madhopur district. In view of the worsening conditions, Disaster Management, Relief and Civil Defence Minister Dr. Kirori Lal personally reached the site on Sunday to oversee and direct relief and rescue operations.

Accompanying him were District Collector Shri Kana Ram, Superintendent of Police Shri Anil Kumar Beniwal, Additional SP Shri Ramkumar Kaswa, Sub-Divisional Officer Shri Damodar Singh, Tehsildar Shri Madanlal Meena, Major Shri Tufail Mohammad and Major Shri Abhinav Rai of the Army’s Rapid 18 Division, along with teams from Civil Defence, NDRF and SDRF, who have been working continuously in the affected areas.

Executive Engineer of the Water Resources Department, Shri Arun Sharma, is supervising efforts on-site to block the water entering the village from the Jadavata canal by placing sand and soil-filled sacks, in order to reduce the flow of water into residential areas.

On Sunday, the Disaster Management Minister reviewed the situation with local representatives and villagers, focusing on the safety of homes and temples threatened by flooding and erosion. To divert the water stream, the administration and army jointly discussed options, following which the canal obstruction was cleared and the water flow was diverted into two to three different directions to ensure proper drainage. Using LNT machinery, a temporary channel was created to divert the water flow, which helped control erosion and protect houses and a local school from collapse.

Local residents, particularly from Jadavata and Koshali villages, were counselled and persuaded to cooperate with the administration. Teams from the Army, NDRF, SDRF and Civil Defence remain deployed on the ground, working round-the-clock to prevent any loss of life or property.

Dr. Kirori Lal assured that the government is giving top priority to the safety and relief of citizens. He emphasized that in any emergency situation, the administration and rescue forces are fully alert and extending all possible assistance to the affected villages.
