Raj Kisan Saathi’ Team Meets IT Minister After National CIPS Innovation Award
Jaipur, Aug 2025 – After the ‘Raj Kisan Saathi’ project received the prestigious National CIPS Innovation Award, the project team paid a courtesy visit to Minister of Information Technology and Communication, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore. Congratulating the department’s team on this remarkable achievement, Col. Rathore urged them to ensure that welfare schemes reach the last person in society by using the latest technologies.
He said that Rajasthan should be developed as a model state in the IT sector by incorporating modern technologies into all applications in the future. Referring to innovations such as Raj Kisan Saathi, he emphasized that technology should not only empower farmers but also enhance the effectiveness of welfare schemes across other sectors. “Our goal is to make Rajasthan a leader in the country by promoting innovation and digital inclusion in the field of information technology,” he added.
The IT Minister instructed the department to expand the use of modern tools such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Data Analytics to make schemes more accessible, transparent, and swift for citizens. He noted that the award for Raj Kisan Saathi reflects both the hard work and dedication of the department, and proves that the right use of technology can extend the benefits of development to every section of society. He urged officers to take this recognition as an inspiration and contribute further innovations for the state’s progress.
On the occasion, Project In-Charge and System Analyst (Joint Director) Mrs. Monika Chaudhary shared detailed information about Raj Kisan Saathi. She explained that it is an integrated online single-window portal embodying the concept of “Simplifying Agriculture,” and Rajasthan is the first state in India to develop such a coordinated framework.
The portal digitally integrates more than 120 modules from agriculture and allied departments into a paperless, transparent system. It has already achieved significant results, including saving 1,320 tons of paper, a 33-fold increase in Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) payments, real-time application tracking, and reduced fraud through digitization. Innovations such as geo-tagged verification, AI/ML-based crop disease management, online licensing, and doorstep delivery of seed mini-kits have greatly improved efficiency and transparency in agriculture service delivery.
So far, more than 7.3 million farmers have been onboarded, over ₹3,500 crore has been disbursed through DBT, more than 100,000 licenses issued, scholarships worth over ₹100 crore distributed to 58,000 agricultural students, and 110,000 samples tested via the RajAgriQC app. In addition, 1,700 capital investments have been supported, and more than 2,500 buyers and sellers connected through the platform.
The portal provides farmers with easy access to DBT schemes, licensing, quality control, digital consultations, and other essential services. Its best practices have been featured in DARPG’s “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance” compendium and the CIPS Coffee Table Booklet, and were also showcased at the 28th National Good Governance Conference. States such as Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand have studied this model and expressed interest in adopting it. Raj Kisan Saathi has also won several prestigious recognitions, including the SKOCH Awards, the National e-Governance Award 2023-24 (Silver Category), and recognition as a finalist for the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
