Reel Competition Organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs on the Occasion of Ganeshotsav
First Prize of ₹1 Lakh; Organized by Maharashtra Film, Theatre and Cultural Development Corporation
Mumbai, Aug 2025 : This year, under the vision of Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, Ganeshotsav will gain new dimensions in India and abroad through a Reel Competition. For the first time, the Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Maharashtra, along with the Maharashtra Film, Theatre and Cultural Development Corporation, is organizing this event. Online registration and reel uploads will be open from August 27 to September 7.
The competition, conducted under the leadership of the Corporation’s Managing Director Swati Mhase-Patil, will be held in three groups: Divisional Level within the state, State Level, and an Open Group for participants outside Maharashtra and outside India. Reels should be based on central themes such as Environmental Conservation, Swadeshi (indigenous/local), Forts, Culture, and Operation Sindoor, with a duration of 30 to 60 seconds.
Prizes:
- At the Divisional Level: First prize ₹25,000; Second prize ₹15,000; Third prize ₹10,000; Consolation prize ₹5,000.
- At the State Level: First prize ₹1,00,000; Second prize ₹75,000; Third prize ₹50,000; Consolation prize ₹25,000.
- For the Open Group (outside Maharashtra and abroad): First prize ₹1,00,000; Second prize ₹75,000; Third prize ₹50,000; Consolation prize ₹25,000.
