Uttar Pradesh leads India’s industrial surge, sets new growth benchmarks
Lucknow, Aug 2025 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has set a new benchmark in industrial development. According to the latest Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) 2023-24, released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India, the state has outperformed all major industrial states on three key parameters: number of factories, employment generation, and gross value addition (GVA).
This remarkable achievement establishes Uttar Pradesh as a rising industrial powerhouse, moving steadily towards becoming the new industrial capital of India under the Yogi government.
The ASI 2023-24 report highlights that the state’s Gross Value Added (GVA) rose from Rs 1.34 lakh crore in 2022-23 to Rs 1.67 lakh crore in 2023-24, marking a historic growth of 25.03%—more than double the national average of 11.9%. With this, Uttar Pradesh has secured the top position in the country.
Similarly, the number of factories in the state increased from 19,102 to 22,141, reflecting a growth of 15.91%, nearly seven times higher than the national average of 2.7%. Employment figures also witnessed a sharp rise, with the workforce expanding from 14.86 lakh to 16.26 lakh—a growth of 9.37%, significantly above the all-India average of 5.9%.
Experts credit this extraordinary performance to the Yogi government’s proactive industrial policies, investment-friendly environment, and strengthened law and order. Backed by the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh is emerging as the country’s leading industrial hub. This success reflects the confidence of investors, the hard work of workers, and the transparent, progressive policies of the state government.
