Forest Minister Inspects Jaisamand Dam and Silisedh Lake, Orders DPR for Channel Works
Jaipur, Sept 2025 – Minister of State for Forest and Environment (Independent Charge) Shri Sanjay Sharma inspected the Jaisamand Dam and Silisedh Lake on Tuesday and issued necessary directions to officials regarding water inflow into the dam. Alwar District Collector Dr. Artika Shukla and officials of the Irrigation Department were present during the visit.
During the inspection, Shri Sharma instructed Irrigation Department officials to prepare a detailed DPR (Detailed Project Report) for excavation, leveling, and strengthening of the channel from Natni ka Barah to Jaisamand, as announced in the state budget. He further directed that proposals be prepared for excavation and channelization of the canal carrying overflow water from Silisedh Lake to Jaisamand Dam. He also ordered the installation of warning boards and security guards in waterlogged and flow-prone areas.
On the occasion, the Forest Minister planted saplings at the Bakhtpura Forest Chowki, spreading the message of environmental conservation.
District Collector Dr. Artika Shukla directed that civil defense security guards be deployed at the high-flow and movement zones of the waste weir channel, along with continuous patrolling by the police. She also appealed to citizens not to enter rivers, drains, reservoirs, and other water bodies, as continuous rainfall in the district has caused strong water inflows and heavy currents.
Present during the inspection were Irrigation Department Superintendent Engineer Shri Sanjay Khatri, Junior Engineer Shri Neeraj Sharma, and other concerned officials.
