Agriculture and Tourism Ministers Attend Agro-Tourism Festival at Hmuntha Zau Lo Zawhpui

Aizawl, Sept 2025 : The Association of Tour Operators Mizoram (ATOM), in collaboration with the Tourism and Agriculture Departments, organized an Agro-Tourism festival at Hmuntha Zau Lo Zawhpui today. The event was graced by Agriculture Minister Pu P.C. Vanlalruata and Tourism Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar.

Speaking at the event, Agriculture Minister Vanlalruata expressed happiness that farmers could celebrate the harvest season with joy. He highlighted that Hmuntha is a fast-developing village, and acknowledged the important initiatives of the Tourism Department, including homestay promotion and infrastructure development, which have brought new opportunities to the area.

Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar, in his remarks, said that Mizoram’s natural beauty and cultural richness are valuable assets for the state’s tourism sector. He stressed that festivals like Lo Zawhpui play an important role in attracting visitors and promoting community-based tourism. He further noted that Tawi Tlang has already been declared a tourist spot and said the government is working to improve facilities for both domestic and international tourists.

Tourism Director Pi R. Lalrodingi stated that such festivals are unique to Mizo culture and have become highly attractive to visitors. She emphasized that these events not only provide joy to locals but also open avenues for broader cultural exchange.

During the celebration, Agriculture Director Pu R. Lalnunzira and Hmuntha VCP Pu P. Lalrinchhana expressed gratitude to the organizers. Agriculture Secretary Pi Ramdinliani, SYS Joint Secretary Pu H. Dolianbuaia, along with senior officials from both departments, also attended. The program concluded with cultural festivities marked by enthusiasm and joy.
