Sikar District In-Charge Minister Reviews Flood Relief, Orders Fair Crop Damage Assessment
Sikar, Sept 2025 : Forest and Environment Minister and Sikar District In-Charge Minister Mr. Sanjay Sharma on Sunday toured flood-affected areas of the district to assess crop damage caused by heavy rainfall. Addressing a review meeting with district-level officials in Sikar, Mr. Sharma affirmed that the state government is fully committed to resolving challenges arising from excessive rainfall.
He directed officials to prepare immediate proposals assessing damages to roads, crops, and livestock. He instructed that crop loss surveys (girdawari) be conducted only after the rainy season ends to ensure accurate assessments and fair compensation to farmers. The Public Works Department (PWD) was asked to begin road resurfacing after the monsoon, while the UIT and Municipal Council were directed to prepare DPRs for drainage and water treatment in Nani Beed and ensure timely implementation.
Mr. Sharma also ordered proposals for new school buildings in place of dilapidated ones and issued show-cause notices to NHAI and PWD officials who were absent from the meeting.
The Minister reviewed local issues raised by representatives, including: waterlogging in Nani Beed and on the State Highway in Nechwa, drainage at Ringas Tri-junction, construction of a new building for Kanwat Mahatma Gandhi School, repairs of Rampura and Fatehpura dams, road safety measures on Harsh Road, restoration of Kochor–Ranoli road, disciplinary action at Rolsahabsar veterinary hospital, drainage at Ringas Mill junction, construction of a boundary wall at the Shaheed Deepchand Verma Memorial in Bawdi, and bypass road construction from Danta.
He urged vigilance regarding weak buildings and kutcha houses during continuous rainfall and instructed patwaris and village development officers to conduct regular field monitoring to prevent loss of life. He also reviewed preparations for the upcoming “Gaon Chalo, Shehar Chalo Abhiyan 2025” (from September 15) and the Cooperative Membership Campaign (from October 2), ensuring maximum public benefit.
District Collector Mr. Mukul Sharma provided detailed updates on relief operations, monitoring of waterlogging, survey of unsafe buildings, and SDRF proposals. Additional District Collector Mr. Ratan Kumar presented a tehsil-wise report on crop damage, losses to property, livestock, and houses, along with compensation details, reconstruction and repair proposals, and health measures to prevent seasonal diseases in flood-hit areas.
The meeting was attended by Dhod MLA Mr. Govardhan Verma, Khandela MLA Mr. Subhash Meel, Sikar MLA Mr. Rajendra Parik, former MP from Sikar Swami Sumedhanand Saraswati, Fatehpur MLA Mr. Hakam Ali Khan, former MLA Mr. Ratan Jaldhari, and other public representatives, who apprised the Minister of local issues in their constituencies.
