Jishnu Dev Varma appointed as new governor of Telangana

The President has appointed six new governors and reshuffled three others, as announced in an official communication on Saturday. Notably, Jishnu Dev Varma, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura, has been named the new governor of Telangana.

Expressing his gratitude, Jishnu Dev Varma tweeted, “I sincerely thank Her Excellency the President of India and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for the opportunity to serve as the Governor of Telangana. This appointment is also a significant recognition for the people of Tripura, as it marks the first time since Independence that someone from our state has been elevated to this position. On behalf of Tripura, I extend my heartfelt thanks once again.”
