Work Should Be Done on Possibilities of Night Tourism and Water Show in Udaipur – Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari
Jaipur, Sept 2025 . Deputy Chief Minister of the state and Minister of Finance, Tourism, Public Works, Art, Culture, Literature, and Archaeology, Women and Child Development, and Child Empowerment, Diya Kumari, held a review meeting in the Collectorate Auditorium during her visit to Udaipur on Sunday. In the meeting, while reviewing the progress of various budget announcements, departmental schemes, etc., necessary directions were given.
While reviewing Public Works Department, Tourism Department, and Women and Child Development, directions were given that development works should be completed on time with quality and where necessary, services of experts should also be taken. She directed that roads under guarantee period in the district should be repaired on time through contractors and if not done, action should be taken against those concerned. She instructed to explore the possibilities of light and sound show or water show on water bodies in Udaipur on the lines of Singapore and Dubai. She also gave directions to work on the possibility of connecting Anganwadi children migrating from tribal and remote areas to other states with the Anganwadi centers of the respective state and benefitting them.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari directed officials that along with speeding up development works, time-bound implementation of public welfare schemes should be ensured. She also discussed possibilities of improvement in the tourism sector and asked to pay special attention to the progress of issues related to the Women and Child Development Department.
The Deputy Chief Minister appreciated Udaipur District Collector and district administration’s working system and said that development works in the district are being carried out rapidly and in a time-bound manner. She directed that through continuous review and time-bound implementation, work should be done to strengthen the trust of common citizens.
Instructions to Connect District Administration with PWD’s Seva App —
In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed works related to the Public Works Department. During this, she instructed to also connect the district administration with the Seva App adopted for monitoring departmental works. She said that currently only departmental officers are connected. With the connection of district administration, better monitoring of works at ground level will be possible.
She reviewed the progress of works from budget announcements. Along with this, she instructed to get damaged roads under guarantee period repaired as soon as possible through contractors.
The Deputy Chief Minister also directed to ensure repair of all roads damaged during rains before the upcoming Diwali. Along with this, she instructed District Collector Namit Mehta to resolve issues related to forest department NOC in various development works with special attention.
Explore Possibilities of Light and Water Show in Udaipur —
During the review of Tourism Department, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari gave instructions to work on possibilities of night tourism and water show in Udaipur. She said that from the point of view of tourism, Udaipur is famous in the country and abroad. Its lakes and natural environment are unique. To promote tourism, possibilities of light and water show here can be explored. At the same time, she also directed to work keeping the conservation of lakes and environment paramount.
While discussing budget announcement works, she gave instructions to include sites related to tribal community in Tribal Tourism Circuit. She said that a work plan should be prepared keeping in mind that access to those sites becomes easy and basic facilities are available for visitors there. She also took information about the progress of Maharana Pratap Tourist Circuit. At the same time, she also indicated that the foundation stone of this project will be laid soon. She also directed to take services of Devasthan Department, Archaeology Department, and other experts in works of various temples and geological sites Javar and Jhamarkotda included in budget announcements.
Ensure Strengthening of Anganwadi Centers —
The Deputy Chief Minister also reviewed various schemes and works of the Women and Child Development Department. During this, she reviewed the progress of strengthening Anganwadi centers, model Anganwadi centers, etc. Deputy Director ICDS Shri Nandlal informed that on the initiative of District Collector Shri Mehta, funds have been approved from DMFT for Anganwadi centers. Also, budget approval has been received from disaster relief. One hundred percent strengthening of Anganwadi centers in the district is being ensured. The Deputy Chief Minister also directed to conduct a survey of Anganwadi centers without network in the district, present a report, and make alternative arrangements for them. In the review meeting, District Collector along with ADM Administration Dipendra Singh Rathore, Director Integrated Child Development Services Vasudev Malawat, Acting Additional Chief Engineer of Public Works Department Uday Singh Jarwal, Superintending Engineer M.C. Meena, Additional Director of Tourism Department Anand Tripathi, Deputy Director Shikha Saxena, along with departmental officers were present.
