Sports Minister Congratulates Manu Bhakar on First Olympic Bronze
Mumbai : Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Sanjay Bansode congratulated India’s shooter Manu Bhakar for winning India’s first bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris, France.
“I believe Indian athletes will win more medals at the Paris Olympics, and Maharashtra will play a big role in that. Manu Bhakar is the first Indian woman shooter to reach the Olympic final in an individual event in the last 20 years. Earlier, Sooma Shirur had reached the finals of the 10m air rifle event at the 2004 Athens Olympics,” he stated.
He expressed the opinion that these medals will boost the morale of Indian as well as Maharashtra athletes to win the maximum number of medals in various sports at the Paris Olympics.
