Minister Smt. Rajwade’s Visit to Sarguja Division

Raipur, Sept 2025 : During her tour of Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur district, Women & Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Laxmi Rajwade displayed both compassion and firmness in a single day. While she announced a ₹20 lakh grant for visually impaired and differently-abled children, she also issued strict instructions to officials over negligence in the functioning of Anganwadi centers during a departmental review meeting.

At the School for the Blind and Disabled at Amakherwa, Minister Rajwade was accorded a traditional welcome. Children captivated everyone with their music and art performances. On this occasion, the institution placed several demands, including building repairs, maintenance support, and honorarium for staff.

Appreciating the children’s talent, Minister Rajwade said, “Differently-abled children are the true treasures of society, and shaping their future is the government’s highest priority.” She immediately sanctioned ₹20 lakh in assistance and assured that other demands would also be addressed promptly.

Later, at the Collectorate conference hall, the minister chaired a review meeting, emphasizing that Anganwadi centers are not just buildings but the foundation of children’s futures. She directed that all centers must open and close on time, maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, and ensure nutritious meals for children. She specifically instructed that moringa (drumstick) leaves must be included 2–4 times a week in meals. Supervisors were warned that negligence during inspections would lead to accountability.

The minister also stressed the proper implementation of key welfare schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Mahatari Vandan Yojana, and Women’s Loan Fund Schemes, ensuring that benefits reach only the rightful beneficiaries.

Minister Rajwade concluded by saying, “The dream of a developed Chhattisgarh will only be realized when we bring positive change in the lives of children, women, and differently-abled citizens. Our commitment is to ensure that the real benefits of every government scheme reach the last person standing in line.”

Present on the occasion were Collector D. Rahul Venkat, District Panchayat President Yashwanti Singh, CEO Ankita Som Sharma, along with several public representatives and officials.
