Women Should Avail Health Schemes of Central and State Governments – Union Minister of State Raksha Khadse
Jalgaon, Sept 2025 : Women should take full advantage of the various health schemes implemented by the Central and State governments to safeguard their health, urged Union Minister of State for Youth Welfare and Sports, Raksha Khadse.
She was speaking at a program organized at Jalgaon District Hospital on the occasion of the Central Government’s “Swasth Nari – Sashakt Parivar” (Healthy Woman – Empowered Family) campaign. During the event, the live telecast of the inaugural program of the “Swasth Nari – Sashakt Parivar” campaign, held in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was shown.
Present on the occasion were MP Smita Wagh, MLA Suresh Bhole, District Collector Ayush Prasad, Zilla Parishad CEO Mrs. Meenal Karanwal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Kiran Patil, District Health Officer Dr. Sachin Bhayekar, and Dean of Government Medical College & Hospital Dr. Girish Thakur, along with other dignitaries.
In her address, Minister Khadse said that women should benefit from government health schemes and undergo regular health check-ups. She emphasized that if women in a family remain healthy, the entire family can stay strong. She also highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition and personal care for women. She added that the “Seva Pakhwada” (Fortnight of Service) initiative, being conducted with the support of all government agencies, aims to take various government schemes to grassroots levels, increase public participation, and ensure people receive maximum benefits. Before the event, Minister Khadse visited stalls set up in the area to showcase information on health-related schemes.
As part of the Seva Pakhwada from September 17 to October 2, 2025, medical camps and treatment drives will be organized in all government institutions under the “Swasth Nari – Sashakt Parivar” and “Namo Netra Sanjeevani” service campaigns. A total of 2,099 camps will be held during this period, offering women’s health check-ups, NCD screenings, TB testing, anemia and sickle cell testing, vaccination services, cataract surgeries, nutrition awareness programs, infectious disease control drives, blood donation camps, as well as distribution of Ayushman Bharat and ABHA cards.
Patients screened during these camps who require surgery or hospitalization will be treated free of cost under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana in empaneled private hospitals or government medical colleges. Beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme also completed their KYC during the event.
Hospitals including Orchid Multi Super Specialty Hospital, Vanita Multi Specialty Hospital, and Prakash Children’s Hospital, Jalgaon, participated in the campaign. Awareness stalls were also set up on programs like the National Child Health Program, National NCD Control Program, National TB Eradication Campaign, National Leprosy Eradication Program, National Malaria Program, and the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
During the program, Zilla Parishad CEO Meenal Karanwal was honored as a “Nikshey Mitra” (TB Care Supporter), along with other Nikshey Mitras, who were felicitated with certificates. Golden Cards under the Ayushman Bharat scheme were also distributed to beneficiaries. The program was attended by ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and staff from government hospitals and colleges. District Collector Ayush Prasad delivered the vote of thanks.
