With their basic needs being met and hardships resolved, the faces of beneficiaries lit up with joy.
At a program held in Bilaspur, needy families were handed keys to permanent houses, building permits, first installment cheques, and Vaya Vandana cards. In addition, several Lakhpati Didis (self-help group women who have achieved economic self-reliance) were also honoured.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Mamta Dubey of Kududan received approval for her house along with the building layout. Expressing her happiness, she said she was finally free from the burden of rented accommodation. Similarly, Vijaya of Gotivada in Hemunagar and Om Sahu of Bijaur were overwhelmed with joy upon receiving their house keys. Residents Santoshri Srivas of Ashok Nagar and Poonam Tandon of Lingiyadih were allotted houses in Khamtarai and Bahtarai respectively and received their first installment cheques. They expressed gratitude, saying their long-cherished dream of owning a home was now within reach.
Similarly, Rani Yadav, who had been living with her family in unauthorized housing opposite Sarkanda police station and was under constant fear of eviction, said that the approval of her new home had lifted a major burden off her shoulders.
On this occasion, while many beneficiaries received house keys symbolizing Grih Pravesh (home entry), Lakhpati Didis were also felicitated. Abdul Naim, a resident of Talapara, Khwaja Nagar, who works as a mechanic, was granted housing approval. He shared that his family would finally have a secure roof over their heads.
In addition, Bilaspur residents Harnarayan Patel, Shanti Devi, and Vidya Parihar received health coverage worth ₹5 lakh under the Vaya Vandana Card.
