Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar Inaugurates Painting Exhibition

Exhibition open for art lovers until September 25, 2025, from 11 AM to 7 PM

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar inaugurated a unique painting exhibition that highlights the vision of a New India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, while also showcasing the rich and powerful legacy of India’s cultural traditions.

Present on the occasion were Swati Mhase-Patil, Managing Director of Chitranagari, Meenal Joglekar, Director of P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Deepak Karanjikar, Chairman of the Academy’s Advisory Committee, member Mohan Bane, and other dignitaries.

Minister Shelar expressed confidence that through this exhibition, the younger generation would gain insights not only into the journey of New India but also into the ancient cultural heritage and traditions of the country.

On behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs, the initiative “New India: A Cultural Superpower” was inaugurated by Minister Shelar on Wednesday at the P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Prabhadevi. The exhibition was originally scheduled to continue until September 23, but after witnessing the diverse and striking displays, the Minister announced a two-day extension. It will now remain open until September 25, from 11 AM to 7 PM, for visitors.

India is recognized worldwide as a cultural superpower. Global citizens have always shown great interest in India’s yoga, meditation, spirituality, Ayurveda, architecture, music, handicrafts, folk arts, textiles, and traditions. Over the past 11 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only highlighted India’s cultural heritage but also strengthened the nation’s global presence in other fields. His leadership has laid strong foundations and brought systematic reforms, steering the country toward a golden era.

This photography and painting exhibition captures that transformative journey. It also presents themes such as India’s ancient cultural grandeur, heritage, unity in diversity, and the spirit of change and progress.
