Construction of Modern Indoor Badminton Stadium Begins in Bagicha

With Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s Efforts, Jashpur Emerges as a New Sports Hub

Raipur, Sept 2025 : Construction has commenced on the modern indoor badminton stadium in Bagicha, approved at a cost of Rs 2.83 crore. The stadium will feature two badminton courts with wooden flooring, along with dressing rooms, seating arrangements, and other essential facilities for players. Residents and athletes have expressed deep satisfaction with this initiative, noting that access to city-level sports facilities within their own district will help nurture better athletes.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the state government is continuously working with foresight to identify and provide better opportunities for sports talents in Jashpur district. The Chief Minister’s vision is to ensure that local athletes shine not only at the national level but also internationally, bringing pride to the state and the country. In line with his directives, approvals for the construction of sports grounds and necessary infrastructure are being continuously granted, and construction work is progressing steadily.

Ongoing Development of Sports Grounds and Infrastructure
Athletes from the tribal-majority Jashpur district have showcased their talents nationally in archery, taekwondo, swimming, athletics, and hockey through sheer hard work and dedication. Chief Minister Sai is determined to give the district a distinct identity in the sports world. As part of this effort, approval has been granted for a modern archery academy in Sanna and a state-of-the-art integrated sports complex in Kunkuri. The Ranjita Stadium is set to receive astro turf and LED displays, and construction of a badminton court near the astro turf hockey ground in Jashpur district headquarters is ongoing. Adventure sports facilities are also operational in Mayali.

Land has been marked for the construction of a football stadium in Gholeng, Jashpur, and continuous approvals are being issued for the renovation of stadiums and sports grounds from urban areas to villages.

Local representatives and sports enthusiasts have acknowledged that CM Vishnudev Sai has always viewed sports as a medium for societal and youth development. Expanding sports facilities and making infrastructure available in rural areas has been a key priority.
